Ridgid drills?
Does anyone have any information on the availability of Ridgid products in Australia? They seem to be pretty highly favored in the US and I really like the fact that they have a lifetime replacement warranty on their batteries (very handy for the home handyman).
I have tried contacting the Australian distributer but havent heard back from them.

Ridgid plumbing tools are available at plumbing specialist outlets.
Ridgid power tools are a product of TechTronic industries, along with other brands, AEG, Milwaukee, Ryobi.

Interesting. So any idea where to purchase the ridgid brand power tools from?
Are there any other cordless drill makers that offer a full replacement warranty for their batteries? The most that I have seen are 3 years (other than Ridgids warranty of course).

Have you tried ringing any tools shops? Most good ones will get in whatever you want.
Try Powertool Specialists in Carlton.

The problem with their power tools is likely to be that everything they currently have is going to be 110 volts and it is unlikely to be economical for them to pay for a 220/240 volt model plus Oz certification given the size of the Australian market. In the US they are a good mid range tool, in Oz they are going to have a lot of established competition.

I thought their calendars were pretty good, a new Miss Rigid Tool maiden every month of the year, well we called them Rigid, sounded better.
Anyone know if they still do their annual calendar?

I remember reading somewhere that our orange AEG tools are the same as the Rigid tools in the US. (possibly one of the reasons AEG went orange?)
