Senco framer not working
Got a Senco framer that I got at a garage sale. I've had it for a good 5 years but it's never worked, all the parts look intact but it doesn't want to fire any nails. The model is SN70 and it looks pretty old, what do you reckon might be wrong with it?

...sounds like it's seized up and needs a dismantle, clean out and a o ring kit put through it.
Take it to a tool repair shop, or I'm sure if you want to tackle it yourself, there would be heaps of info via google
...btw great framing gun.
Cheers

If you want to get it repaired there is a air tool repair shop on Station street Box Hill South, past Canterbury Rd on the Left side towards Burwood Highway, about opposite Kingswood College.

there are quite a few detailed 'how to's on you tube if you feel like doing it yourself.

Thanks guys, I did have a look at some how to's on the web and it looks doable but I also spoke to a couple of power tool repairers who said Sencos are fairly complicated to put back together, ie easy to disassemble but difficult to re-assemble.

I've had an SN70 for almost 20 years.
I had it overhauled about 5 or 6 years ago, new "O" rings and a clean and service, which cost me $120 at All Tools in Brooklyn and it hasn't missed a beat since.
They are a great gun, if you plan on getting plenty of use out of it it's well worth the expense of having it professionally re-kitted, it will outlast half a dozen cheapies.

The sn70 has been the market leader for framing gun & carpenters sledge hammer for the last 20years, full original service kit installed cleaned & relived should cost you more than $150. Beware of guys charging under the $100 mark as they are probably using after market o rings. After you have done that right pressure & oiling daily when used it will last forever
