    Default Tool Store Practices

Thought this was interesting reading and it may help readers here from getting stung - many people only look for the cheapest price though and don't care about the other stuff mentioned in this article - caveat emptor I guess :

I dont know what planet they are on making statements such as -no reputable repairer will repair the imported tools even if you pay them
I have bought some Makita skins that I assume to have been imported but bought batteries and chargers in Aust. I have never had a problem and if I did I think I would be replacing not repairing. Once you have the batteries etc, the skins cease being the major expense of that initial purchase.

Does tend to go on for a bit, maybe should be put in summary form. Has some valid & true points, at the end of the day consumer will have to get warranty from place of purchase so make sure the seller has a store that you could at least take it back to to make a claim, if it's an overseas tool your brand warranty will be void but you will be able to claim warranty on seller, just make sure there is a serial. NUmber on the invoice referencing back to the tool. Otherwise to save the hassle buy from authorised dealer
