Default Triton 12" laser slide sliding compound mitre drop saw

I have been looking at thiTRITON 12" LASER SLIDE SLIDING COMPOUND MITRE DROP SAW NEW IN BOX 305MM BLADE | eBays saw and was wondering if any one here has had any experiences with this particular saw.

Well that's interesting, 72 views and no comments. This tells me that not a lot of people have them or know about them. I thought it too good to be true, but I hear good things on this forum about some of the other Triton gear, routers and such so I thought this may be ok too. I did a search on this forum for this machine and found nothing. Plenty of stuff about other SCMS's.

The Triton routers are top quality, I have 2 of them in my table.
That is where Triton got its reputation and then others traded on its name while branding inferior products- IMHO

I have no knowledge of the saw that started this thread but I suspect it just has a coat of orange paint

Apart from the colour, it doesn't look too different from the Ozito SCMS I bought last week.
Mine doesn't have a laser though

I own one. The dust collection is so masterfully arranged that almost nothing goes into my festool vacuum, but vast amounts trapped immediately in front of the laser. Depth stop is unpredictable, and unrepeatable in every sense. Blade is fairly rough with impressive tear out, although that may not be exclusive to the Triton SCMS. A striking contrast to my triton routers. Do yourself a favour and pay a little more. Although if you want to buy mine, they are actually excellent machines. )
