Creating something from wood.
I love kit in the shed, and always need more kit.
Do I care that our processes of creating wooden objects are different today than 2000 BC? No
Do I care about the tools used 100 years ago are different to today to create the same pieces of furniture? No
Will I care that the tools I use today will be different in 100 years from now? no
I'm of the school that a tool becoming superseded is a good thing.
Why was any tool invented?
One would assume to improve a way or process to undertake or perform a certain task.
The wheel has been invented let it continue to turn.
Cheers

Just remember there is a differece between a tool and a gimmick.
I find that I fully enjoy the designing, I love the fact that I can draw it up to a point of zero tollerance is super.
I have kiln dried, 12 year old box here that moves a couple of mm throughout the year due to the weather. I made the mistake of thinking being well seasoned I could get away with close fits...nup.
