If you're after a combo.. There is a Metabo 12" combo up for sale as part of a clearance of some equipment from a factory closure in Sydney..

I think it's this one. When I rang they wanted around $1000 for it. Apparently it's just about new..

He also had a Radial Arm saw, De Walt Rip Saw, Dust Extractors, Small Bandsaw.

    May I suggest a Holz Profi 12" planer/thickensser ?

May I also suggest a Hammer 1.2M sliding saw ?

2 lovely bits of kit - however not much change from $10K, however both machines worth every cent.

Called in to Major Woodworking Equipment this afternoon to take a look.

Can't say I really liked the Supersaw, especially the fence - guess my Biesemeyer fence has me spoiled

They aren't normally stocking the Jet cabinet saws any more, but they just happen to have one coming in a container at the end of the month It's triple belt drive, 3HP and not a whole lot more money than the Supersaw. It also takes a dado set, which the Supersaw does not.

They also have a new deluxe version of the Jet 6" jointer coming in - 56 inches long instead of the normal 46 inches (but shorter than the 66 in Powermatic), and a new design cutterhead. Might just be able to fit one into the workshop.

Still not commited - so any other opinions would be very welcome - but I'm tending towards these two, which would also give me some dollars to get a couple decent blades, dado set, tenoning jig etc.

Just get the Jet cabinet saw. Anything else you get will be a bonus.

    Just an update (and a pre-gloat ....

Ordered the Jet cabinet saw for delivery early Jan. Also ordered the Jet 6" deluxe jointer - 56" long beds, new cutterhead etc. Major Woodworking were very helpful - terrific bunch to deal with.

Then I made the mistake of calling in to Carbatec as well Got a Vicmarc VL300ESVX arriving next Thursday - one seriously nice lathe

Merry Christmas to me... Merry Christmas to me....

Hmmm.... I think I'm running out of things to want to upgrade. Might be time to stop drooling over new gear and get to making some stuff

Also picking up my new car on Saturday. I think I better go find the better half another Xmas present - she's going to feel a little left out otherwise

It works nicely actually - a few faults with the machine itself, but nothing significant - gives a good result. Wouldn't be selling it except the nice people at Major Woodworking made me an offer I couldn't refuse on the new Jet 6" deluxe long bed.
