Is fishing better than golf?
I've been rekindling my interest in fishing lately.
In passing I did a service call at a golf course today.
Had a thaught that the two pastimes have some interesting similarities.
But is fishing better than golf?
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

Golf is a process of hitting a little white ball then spending the rest of the day looking for it.
Fishing is a process of siting down with a tin in the hand and possibly a fishing rod as well

Maate I have found they both good but I guess fishing is more logical at least you can get the odd feed!
cheers

I'm afraid I agree with Byron ( i think).
Golf..... a way of ruining an otherwise pleasant walk in the countryside.

Yeah, but with golf you can get the odd drink!
Never seen the point of golf, beat the cr*p out of s defenceless little ball, then spend half the day finding it, then spend 1/2 an hour deciding with which stick to beat the cr*p out of it again..............
You get the picture
Fishing...........waiting for someone you've never met before!
Where's the rats' ring option?

I cant see how to put a third choice in the poll as an edit..... perhaps the mods could do it.

On the odd occasion when I want a few hours personal time away from everyone, I can always wander down to a creek, throw an unbaited line in and then sit back against the esky and do some cloud watching with a stubby in my hand.
Most passer-bys will, at best, simply give a nod as they walk by, while the rest pay no attention at all. Admittedly there'll be the odd angler who'll come up to compare notes, but usually as soon as you shake your head and point at the esky they understand straight away. We've all been there, done that.
Try and do the same thing on a golf course, and you get these whinging gits who nag at you until you move your fishing tackle and esky out of their way. Thoughtless buggers, they are, no respect for a blokes' communion with nature! Maybe next time I'll try setting up the rods at a water hazard instead of on the putting green, but the grass just isn't as comfortable to kick back on there! .

What no Rats ring
I went for no , trying to outsmart one of the worlds dumdest creatures with a bit of nylon line and a bent bit of steel, compared with a game that takes some skill and ability , no contest , unless you include spear fishing.Ashore

I voted yes but that is because I now live in one of the best fishing spot there is and it has no golf course
In Townsville I played golf religiously, at least once a week, sometimes up to five times a week.
Now I have moved to TI, bought a boat and fish every chance I get. I hate fishing anywhere else, I don't understand the whole "might catch a fish" thing, but up here it's like taking candy from a baby.
There is also no, timber available up here so my workshop is locked in a container
God I miss golf and woodwork
BTW, here is todays effort
Some tuna
And a nice GT
I'd still rather be playing golf but you take what you can get

Fishing or golf?
Fishing is not just a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.

One gets you angry the other calms you down and I've seen a club thrown further than I can cast a line and into the same stuff to.

Don't pass them by! Be daring and caring!
Dampen their misery....sit with them and talk a little.
Buy them something to eat and a tram fare to a local mission.
I'm so lucky that I've somewhere to live and have family support.
