    Default Aldi CHainsaw

Yes, that's right! A genuine made in china Chainsaw sold by Aldi.

Bought one in Forster about a month ago and only just got to setting it up ready for use a coupl of days ago so as to take advantage of the couple of fine days.

Bloody thing would not start!! Took it round to the brother's and bingo! He started it almost immediately.

Not abad little saw. nice weight and balance and cuts well enough for what I want.

Now I can trimm down all the timbe I've kept for turning blanks.

Wlil post pics when I get a couple of computer issues sorted.

    Hi Artme,

Don't you hate it when you can't get something to go and the next bloke gets it almost immediately......I could almost picture your face when you said that.

I suspect you flooded it and by the time you went to the brother's it was OK again. That is why I always give 2 strokes a spray of Start You Bastard. Best stuff to make small motors jump to life. Thinking of spraying a little into SHMBO.

    Please the saw works well.

    Cheers,

    Anthony

Yep Anthony, SYB is a good brew but I prefer to use it only in extreme cases.

Spent a couple of hours today cleaning up and "milling" various bits and pieces that I have collected over the years. Jaccaranda, Melaleuca Qinquinerva. White Cedar, Lilly Pilly And some stuphph I could no longer identify.

Some has spalting and unfortunately the termits had devoured some. Remarkable that both the Jaccaranda and Lilly Pilly were not greatly feasted upon by the little whit buggers.

I simply had to throw out a good trailer load of soft punky timber. Much of it had sat around for years in not ideal storage conditions. I hadn't been able to get to it because of a stay in Brasil and other commitments.

The saw is slightly underpowered but patient and gentle use does the job well,

Keeping the chain as sharp as possible also helps.
