I wonder on the size of the motor.
My bandsaw runs a Briggs & Stratton 16hp V twin motor and has a maximum cut of 600mm. I wouldn't want a smaller motor size on my saw.Kev

Itsposs, the 14b looks to be a Chinese copy of the woodmizer LT10. Same blade cover, tracks and frame construction. Even the same colour To my thinking, 7 horspower isnt enough to run say an 1"1/4 blade, it would want at least 12hp to run the blade at its full potential

Itsposs, I have a 13Hp Chinese Honda on my homemade mill, the trick is to match the Bladespeed to the horsepower so that you have enough torque. I have have tried a couple of speeds on my mill and have settled around 4000fpm at full revs. this allows me to cut Gidgee and Dead finish logs up to 500mm. The feed rate is slowed for the larger logs but it still seems to cut OK. I think a 7Hp motor would not have enough torque for our Australian Hardwoods. It might be OK for Cedar and Silky Oak, if thats all you want to cut.
