Camphor Laurel Stump and Chunks
Picked up some Camphor chunks (up to 1500m wide) and another 'Stump'...and a brute it is
Not quite as big as the last one but will deliver some tasty boards and blanks
Will be keeping the chunks for myself but decided to donate the 'Stump' to local men's shed...they'll get a lot of good turning and board making stuff to keep 'em going for donkeys ages
Will post pics when work begins...MMMapleman

Thanks for the pics. It was very generous of you to donate the Stump.

Wow Would love to see you wrestling those great stumps down into usable boards MM
Beautiful timber! I gotta laugh thinking about the size of the tree when I'm fitting little 100mm lids in my little boxes from the bits I got off you, and it's STILL SPECTACULAR

Its no easy task Bob...I think there will be some helpers cleaning the dirt from it but the trimming and milling will be my job
Have finished milling the 'chunks' and they produced many stunning pieces and surprisingly there was very little metal or any thing foreign to deal with.
Did find one piece of barbed wire on the outside of the last chunk I milled and lost a tip off the blade as well as minor damage to the others but all in all they were very clean.
Hoping the stump mills up without any internal nasties as well...but one never knows...suburban grown trees are a lottery and great care must always be taken...MMMapleman
