    Default Closing down

Eco Urban Timbers is closing down. The Lucas mill is advertised in the for sale section and other items will appear as time goes on.

    Noooooooo

Mate, sorry to hear it. Hope it leads to something better, and not a down hill turn.

    Cheers

Thanks for the kind words, folks.

In a nutshell, the reason comes down to not enough income and too much rent. The last two months have been almost dead, with very few orders and several cancellations.

I thought of relocating, but I just don't have the heart (or the money)to do it again so soon, so I decided to go and get a real job instead.
    Cheers,
    Craig

    Hi Craig,

Sorry to hear that - will leave a lot of disappointed woodies here in Brisbane.

Sorry to hear this Craig, the short few days milling we did together down there, will always bring a smile to my face. Good luck with whatever 'real' job you go into.

If I can ever give you a hand, let me know

I assume your looking to sell your remaining stock ? If so if you've got more big blackwood planks on the quarter I'll come and get some. Not looking for a discount but if you've got to move I'll give you a few less sticks to shift. I might go some sasafras if you've got some big ones on the quarter, shorts are fine. let me know...

It's a buggu and I'm sorry. I guess it's no consolation that your not an island in seeing a decline in interest...

Gday Damian, there's not much quartered blackwood left, but you're welcome to come and look. still a fair bit of sassy.
I'll be announcing a sell-off of the timber shortly and whatever doesn't sell will go to auction.
    Cheers,

It amazes me that this is happening when we are constantly reading about the furniture manufacturers struggling because of the shortage and price of quality timber. Was a two page write up on the industry and problems in the West on Monday. All the best with your new endeavors Craig, kind of makes me wonder whether i am doing the right thing seeing I am at the other end of the cycle - new 8-30 should be dispatched to me today

That's a bummer Craig, another victim of the downturn. I hope it goes well for getting a real job.

Hmm, have you still got that lovely dark stuff Craig, or are you still planning to keep it in your private stash?

Get a real job, KEEP the milling gear, and ride out the trouble, and work your way back in.

Thats how Im starting I,m keeping a real job that gives me 3 and half days a week to gather logs and mill, accumulate and store timber, so far so good.
