    Default New to CS Milling

    Hi all,

I'm still fairly new to CS milling. I have a Husqvarna 395XP with a 42 inch Oregon bar running skip chain and a borrowed Westford mill.

I've attached some photos of my first few attempts.
The ones against the trailer are Tallow, the one with the fork is Ironbark and the other is Spotted Gum.

I've been happy with the results but my milling was slow due to my extremely poor chain sharpening skills. I had an arborist/climber mate sharpen my chain and it cut my milling time in half .

I'd be happy to hear any feedback that may help me learn more. I've read and re-read a number of posts from BobL with regard to sharpening and I know I need to practice and focus more on sharpening.

    Happy Milling

    Daggsie

Daggsie, good work on the milling.

If you are interested post a side on photos of some of your cutters and I'll give you a diagnosis.

    Take the photos Like this.
