    Default Help milling stump

hey hey, I need someone at rather short notice (by Monday next week) to rip an ironbark stump including rootball (600mm diameter at trunk end) down the centre so it can be used as table legs. It's been out of the ground for a few months and I've cleaned away the dirt with pick/crowbar and gurney. Happy for someone to just do it with a chainsaw but if the only way is a mobile mill so be it. Was thinking around the $200, figure it'll only take an hour. I can't work out how to attach photos on my phone so if you're interested give me a call or text and I'll send them through 0417929270

    Much appreciated guys and girls

Jack, be prepared to pay for damage, I know you said you've cleaned it, but there will be dirt/stones you didn't get and many saw millers won't touch it, if someone does, you'll certainly be charged ;-) good luck mate
I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

...Don't think many millers out there would be willing to touch it either
May i suggest you go out and purchase a 'cheap' chainsaw and do it yourself
Be surprised how cheap they are now
That way you cop any damages that may occur
You may be lucky....you may not
Better off choosing a forked limb for legs...save you a lot of headache
Have milled the odd stump or two in my day...sorry to say finding rocks and stones embedded is a definite given!
    Good luck with it...MM

Yep, certainly know there will be some hidden stones and dirt trapped in there so I was prepared to pay for damages. Thanks for the heads up though guys, maybe I need to work something else out!

This is the sort of job you keep old chains and old bars for.
