    Default Horizontal Log Bandmill

    A set of carpenter's books was recently up for sale and one of the pages showed this bandsaw. The safety angle is light on, but fundamentally it is the same as you would buy today. The saw would date from the early 1920s.

    I was interested (in the books) but freight was around $75 for the five volumes from the UK. Just too expensive for what was only a curiosity in the first place,

    in those days people were cheap tools were dear, remember the old factories driven by flat belts on long shafts? guards were on the door not the machines ,good thing thats gone

    Hey, great pic, a set of wheels, axle and it'd be just like my mizer. Might have to put up with steel tyres tho. Excellent tyre wear I believe.
