Default A little bit of stuff Carl and Al are doin...

Carl hurt his back and needed an offsider - really I reckon he just wanted my bobcat

So we go for a drive and find this joint...

So it looked like a bit of a disaster site when we got there (dunno if it looks much better now) so we had a heap of log to dock and snig to a suitable site for milling. There's more photo's to come....

Do you blokes usually just lob on someone elses site and start cutting timber? Where I come from, you'd end up with a butt full of butchers salt. And thats if they were feeling neighbourly!

Youv'e got some work ahead of you there. Looks like someone is planning on widening the road?
Carl's back will know all about it when you've finished.

stopper - hopefully by tomorrow lunch time we will have 20 m3 of boards on teh ground, strapped up ready to go. that will have this blokes orders filled,

    100 - 6x2 x 6m

Yeah, its the only way we get to cut any timber - we rock up anywhere a tree is down, then we start slicing it up and hope no-one notices the campsite we made, bobcat running couple hours a day, trailers, sawmill (exhaust optional), utes for the month, then Carl will drop 'em an invoice for a bunch of timber they never asked to be cut...it was a good scam til you put it online...now everyone will be doing it

nah the country round here is awful, gullies and ridges everywhere, some spots are heart rate raising just walkin 'em, like Carl said they got a dozer in to do the sniggin. Carl and I ran chainsaws and hooked chains for a few days, we did one day on a ridge with the bobcat, but he's mostly been put to use loading the skids with logs and movin packs of timber once sawn

Loaded a couple 2.2cube logs with him onto the skids hey? Geese its good having a small nations workforce to call on during the day

yeah, we've all but finished Steve. Spent 14 days on site spread over the past 4 weeks. Had a few days just sniggin and dockin logs, another cpl days setting up two mill sites and not a heck of a lot of milling really given how much timber is lying around the place.

I got a bunch of pics to put up once I'm back on mains power again too

20m3 of timber from about 46 cube of log.

much of it had bad pipes, and 5 and 6m sticks were not what i would call gun barrell straight.

there is still 28 cube of log left onsite i will make an offer on.
