The Big Log
Well as you have seen on BobL's previous post the big log mill project is well underway.
The fiddleback is apparent all through the timber and Im well pleased.
Bob's saw and frame are a wonder to behold. It is a much easier task to push the saw down those rail than Id expected and the accuracy of his cutting is astounding.
Ill get some pics up if I can.
It is a bit hard to cleanly plane wet timber but Ive had a go.
The first pic is the curly grain and the second is the timber on the quarter with the fiddleback

None as yet. The tree had to come down so it is a case of waste not want not.
The neighbour has asked for a slab for a bar but this is going to take a while to dry so he might not want to wait.
It is checking fast so it's touch and go as to whether it will dry intact.
A lot of wax has been applied to the centre and other prone areas and it is covered now as well.
We shall see.
Thanks to Bob the Miller for his hard work, I am in debt to him."Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem"
