Logosol Milling Sleapers
Hi all,
First post here, my name is Cam and I’m from Gippsland Victoria. I’ve recently purchased a Logosol chainsaw mill (similar to M8 but older model). I’ve been interested in milling timber for some time and when this came up at the right price I couldn’t say no.
So now I have it set up and ready to go, I have a few questions prior to starting.
Now I purchased this mill to mainly do native hardwoods for various furniture or one off bits and pieces. However, on my property I have around 50 pine trees with no use, so my plan was to maybe mill these into sleapers, get them treated and sell them rather than pay someone to come and remove them.
So my questions are
1. Is it worth cutting sleepers.
2. How should I be cutting sleepers (size wize)
3. How do I stack it?
4. Does it need to dry? (Before or after treatment)
5. Do the stacks need to be strapped together?
6. Is there a standard bundle size that i should bundle them in for treatment?
7. Where in gippsland is the best place to get the treated?
