Looking for Building Poles for Sheds & Stables - Gosford
Morning Gents.
I'm looking to buy some building poles (new or second hand) which would be suitable for construction of some sheds & stables etc at our property at Somersby (Gosford area).
Not too fussy about species as long as they are suitable for ground embedment, and they will need to vary from 4.5m to 7.0m long with a diameter of 200mm-300mm.
Any of you millers & fellers have any suggestions?

Yes, I had already tried Ausgrid, Avery. Their response was that they no longer sell second hand poles to the public because of "green" concerns. No one there seemed to be 100% sure, but consensus of opinion was that all used poles were now sold under contract to registered recyclers in different areas.
There's one mob that I contacted in Western Sydney (Warragamba) who have hundreds & hundreds of used telegraph poles in their yard. Their price for tapered 200mm-300mm poles?
Wait for it......
$86.50 per lineal metre! I kid you not! An 8.0 metre used telegraph pole can be yours for a mere $692.00, plus costs for transport. Bargain!Don't Just Do It.... Do It HardenFast!!
