    Default Makita Dcs9010

Just a heads up guys brought a new Makita power head from a local tool shop in Bundy. Got it as part of a bulk deal any way it takes a differnt bar to the husky type one that the last of the orange Dolmars did. And makita bars are a bit scarce on the ground atm so you ll need to possibly change the studs out. Will post pic's when I get home.

Good idea I reckon, can't go past after sales parts and service, like you said bit hard to find bits for a Makita c/s I'd think.

Just got myself a new orange toy

Yeah I honestly thought Makita would have it all sorted, but it seems the more a toolshop sells the bigger discount they get problem is they only can sell the power heads for the bigger saws where as the Makita outdoor guys are getting shafted cause they cant even buy them to sell for what I got mine for I got the 50cc and 90cc saws for the same price as the 660. Shoulder let me know I cant use the 660 for long but i ve only got 3 months an 3 weeks for the Mill an edger to turn up.

I took some pictures Its an old dolmar design that Makita has gone back too. Ace sawsharpening in Bundy found me a bar today. You ll be able to see in the smaller saw its got a different bar and sprocket set up as well.

I ve just discovered the bar of the 880 suits ( Wanted a bigger saw ) My fellers excited cause I ll doubt I ll be able to start the bloody great thing, Its great cause it lets me standardise my chains as well 3/8 x 063 and I still get to use the Makita I hate making mistakes and am quietly confident that its going to be a good saw

Just found out that the Solo 694 is the same saw but both models are being phased out its a real killer as I need to replace part of the crank case I wonder how companys can continue to sell products that they are no longer making parts for.

I had the state rep for Makita Outdoor come up today and give me a demo 7901 to try out while they get me the parts to get the 9010 going again, Got to give it to them they want to improve the brand and get it out there.
