Now there's a good idea. I usually just mill boards as most of it is for ME. I really should do a bit more commercial stuff. Now; Dai, you being a woodie in the know. What would be a good commercial size? I'm thinking 200x200x75 or?? a 100mm
Oh, ding dong forgot pics for posting before putting the boards in the container. So you'll have to wait till Ive milled out more. Too hot for me at the moment.

100 would be better. Also 75x75x350 makes good pepper grinder blanks, 1" thick for pen blanks, 50x50's for bottle stoppers/handles, the list goes on. Even the cracked and scraps pieces make good casting stuff .

La La La, I'm in heaven. Finished milling the peppercorn today. Fiddle back, Burl, birdseye, spalting the best log I've ever milled!!!! Been haven a lot of fun. Although off to a slow start with a chain of stuff-ups.
Enjoying Neils company and help. Was good to see his slabbing apparatus in action and with the new winch system. I'm looking forward to seeing the milled stuff turned into various blanks.

I'm actually at Tim's place now helping out where I can. Got some really good 50/100/200 x 100 thick boards with the Lucas. We thought the grain was too good to just cut 200 odd max wide, so I pulled out my rig and we got 3 good slabs out of it. Good opportunity to try out the new winch I installed at 's place. I moved the cable end anchor (mill end) a few times, but this stuff was so soft I didn't really need it , but worked a treat

Lots of other turning blanks to come from the left overs tomorrow with the bandsaw

Here is a shot of heaps of ladybugs we found under some Blackwood bark . There were piles of hem under every piece of bark we removed. Tim said when he cut down the tree it was raining ladybugs
