    Default Milling the good logs!

    Hi all

Just thought I'd share a few pics from our recent redgum milling at the farm. Getting into our stash of good logs that we have been collecting over the past two years. These are the smaller logs, as the loader can only lift 5 tonne. All the bigger logs will be done when the excavator arrives home to handle them. There are about 10 logs in the 10-18 tonne range which will be nice to mill.

Some of these redgum slabs are 5m x 1.2m and well figured with clean natural edges, while the shorter ones are 1.5m x 3m. Timber sealing and racking as we go. When slabbing we set the log and mill up on a good angle so that it moves along under its own weight, giving a very fine finish and even thickness. A little slower but the results you can see are good.

    Cheers
