With trying to cut the silky thinner, you are going to have trouble. Firstly, to cut 50mm into two 25mm means it has to be split by magic, nothing can physically do that, everything that can cut it will have to take out some material for the cut itself. At best you may return two 20mm pieces, in theory, in practice your silky oak slab won't be perfect flat, so this will alter your finished sizes. I can dress it down a little for you if you wanted it a bit thinner, but as for splitting it, you won't be happy with the results.

Slabbing the other log, you can bring it out to me, I can slab it for you, I'm about an hour and half from the Goldy.

I had some 50mm & 60mm Jarrah slabs sliced on a horizontal bandsaw here in S/W WA.
The 60mm he cut into 3 boards & the 50mm in to 2 boards.
The very dry 2m slabs were only 30cm max wide but still had twisting & warping etc.
After planing I have boards from 12mm to 22mm, mostly they are 16mm & 18mm thick.

So you can see that although the bandsaw removed about 2mm I still lost a fair bit of timber.
It also depend on how good the guy is on the bandsaw.
It just depends on what you want the boards for.
