Newbey looking for milling gear
Just getting into milling and I'm on the hunt for a 36" milling bar and milling chain. It's going on a 076av super chainsaw I'll be cutting up seasoned Euc. Rudis into 4x4's. Then it's down to the old mans block for some jarrah, wandoo and some mallet.
Any retailers you could recommend to get the stuff from and any ideas regarding bar and chain selection would be great
Regards Dave

I went with GB saws. very helpful in making sure the bar fit the saw and I snapped up 100ft of chain and made my own loops. cheaper and easier.

Thank you for the welcome I realise that there is so much to learn and that it's not just about making wood chips fly.

That's such a kind offer thank you very much. As with anything new it's always the jargon and terminology that is the hardest to learn. That is why these forums rock.

Definitely take BobL up on anything he offers. I have learned a ton by reading his posts all around the net. I would love to hang out and mill with him!
I started out with a 36" Stihl bar and standard full-chisel chain. You don't need to get too fancy to get going. It's fun to experiment with different chain cutter types, top plate angles, and depth gauge heights. Follow BobL's suggestions on progressive depth-gauge filing; it helps a lot.
