Large Oak free for milling save this tree from fire wood!!!
Hi members,
i have been struggling with this for some time. as a tree lopper in Melbourne inner suburbs i see amazing timber getting cut to small bits and burned and it kills me every time!!! i need help (lol and not only in the mental sense )
This time it is this magnificent Oak we cut down it is around 1m in diameter for about 2.5 m then it get smaller all the way to about 500mm at 6.5 m length (see pictures)
This magnificent timber will be cut to fire wood unless someone wants it (the client is cooperative if you need to organise a time to come and cut it)

if any one know any one please pass my number to them and have them call me asap as i need to make plans by Monday (if sadly you are too late still contact me for next time)
Let's save this timber.
Regards,
LevLast edited by DJ’s Timber; 18th November 2021 at 07:18 AM.

I hope someone take up the offer a shame to waste such timber.
The biggest problem will be getting it out of that small backyard.
What suburb is it in, and what is the access like?Last edited by dai sensei; 27th September 2014 at 11:21 AM. Reason: made a mess of this thread whoops

Wish I was closer, and shoulders were functioning, I would be in like flin. I have sent a message or 2 to millers down your way, it would be a shame to burn/mulch it

Thank you guys,
Access is reasonable there is a big roller door at the end of the fence and a wide lane-way runs parallel to the side and back.
As to location it is in Caulfield North.
I hope this help.

Lev

Yeah, too far for me, but my thoughts exactly. The butt log may be the only thing worth milling and to run out there to get hold ofthat would be a very difficult prospect for most - certainly a job done for love of timber.

With all those forks it would make very interesting turning blanks. Hopefully someone will take up the generous offer.
