Pretty perhaps a bit busy blackwood
I know you all like dark brown blackwood but......
And perhaps I could have even sold these as camphor...... the colour is pretty special and unusual
Beautiful stuff and they cut like butter which was a surprise, it is a little splintery when dry.
Some good slabs and great boards 250-300mm wide
Greg

blackwood
Cold cold Dorrigo.
Yes, used Mal's mill and it worked a treat for me.
I know that some really like dark brown blackwood, but this stuff is still very pretty, almost like camphor in colour, with the blackwood grain stability.
Trouble is..... it now needs a year or so to dry properly, so it's for looking only.
I've treated the bearers, white ants do like blackwood as well......

camphor
Mr. Luke.
First, SIL LOVED her camphor cutting board, one side for cheese, the other side for cutting... thanks, she was surprised and it's one of life's pleasures to give something to someone and receive appreciation. Thanks again LUke.
Second. See you up there next year when these boards are dry. Perhaps for sale at the next 'Rare and Exotic' auction in March or whenever... I've cut the centre section at 100mm thick, quarter sawn x 3 metres x 500mm wide, ready in several years for great guitars ..... I can see you taking up music, after Vegas, off to Nashville.....
or perhaps I'll see you earlier, you've still still got the jarrah to collect and I could do with another carton.........

Gorgeous timber!!!
There is no doubt about the variability of Blacckwood. I have seen very evenly
coloured boards in Tassie, all on the darker side; very dark stuff a mate and I cut
down in Brisbane and beautiful mixed coloured boards from Coramba, near Coffs.
