Maybe not.... that model is about $24K new & it hasn't done much work.
The bloke that has his much older 25HP model parked at my place at present paid $10K & it has done a stack more that 29hrs work.
Interesting thing is the bloke he bought it off got one of the new 30HP ones & has since said the the $14K that it has cost him to upgrade wasn't worth it.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Couple of things interest me with this...
I was under the impression the 830 wasn't 3 years old, possibly 18-20 months,
if it has a slabbing attachment then it should have a cut bigger than 1250mm, should be around 1.5m
The last thing which gave me a scratch head moment, in the photo, why would he have the left side of both end frames blocked up?
hmmmmmm
Salty how much did you pay for your 830, and anyone else for the at matter?I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

Sigidi, I'd reckon he's got the mill blocked up 'cos he's a dill.
As for price, I paid $16k for an 827 with less than 10 hours including a dedicated slabber.Cheers,
Craig

While it's not a bargin, it's probably worth around that amount. Engine is hardly run in, blades should still be on original teeth and it's the big 30hp model.
I must be a Dill too, I have blocked both ends of my mill like that when sawing on the side of a hill too... we dont all live on flat land
I agree there isn't a huge difference between a 25 and a 30hp mill, not enough to justify a straight upgrade anyway. But if you can buy a nearly new 30 for less than a new 25hp it has to be worth considering
I think the clip on slabbers are available in various lengths, the bar doesn't have to be the full width of the frame, and as long bars are pricey they may have a shorter one.

Yeah I thought a slabbing attachment was much bigger than 1250mm, do you reckon the chap knows what he's on about?
I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

Hi all, I have an 8/30 mill with slabbing attachment only 9 months old paid $16000 as demo at field days and then added slabbing attachment only two months ago for $1250, so if buying for $15500 only saving $1750 not a real saving for 29 hours work!!

People you meet in your local.
I spoke to the bloke, who's selling the Lucas, at the Longwood pub tonight and he put that price on it after he rang and asked Lucas what they thought it was worth. It's a 27hp model and the slabbing attachment has never been fitted. Hope this helps
