    Default Skidding with the tractor

    Hi guys,

I've been hunting for a skidding bar or some such that I can attach to the 3 point linkage of the tractor. Can anyone direct me to something available in Australia other than those fancy $7K+ logging winches?

Something like this http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...5943_200335943 would be perfect but do you think I can find one?

    Cheers

    Ash

Why not print out the web page and take it to a local engineering place. They should be able to make one between 300 and 7000, shouldn't they?

I guess so, it just seems weird they don't have something that does this already. Surely I'm not the only one looking to skid logs with a tractor

Well I must admit I have never wanted to skid logs before seeing your post but I have a friend in tassie who has a farm, tractor, Lucas mill, chainsaw to make logs and a welder. I think my next play visit to the farm will include drawings for one of these

    Thumbs up

#pl gear is easy enough to make if you can weld.

When I had the farm I made several #pl items including a set of forks and a spray tank.

If you can weld, do it yourself.
