Sure I ll I ll go cheak around my free saw s that run on free petrol, diesel and electricity. That I get sharpened for free by the sharpener who s a free 50km drive away
I ll gladly give it all away freely on my free internet with my free computer in my free house on the free land I ll gladly give it to some who wants it to sell it and makes a profit when all I am left with is tire tracks an dust
Other wise I d take the effort to learn who does WHAT in this forum then maybe speak to them about selling to you at wholesale for your 30000 plus cars a day warehouse with sales manager and carpenter.

4th July 2010, 12:16 AM #3I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.
Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.

Any business that does not have to fork out for it's raw materials could be regarded as an
"old proven business at this site as it has the very best present and all just about all locals know the site"
Will it still be regarded as such when the locals find out that it is built on bludgery ?

Advertising for free material, on a free free web site to sell for a profit? Free-loader.
But then maybe you're just really, really naive.
Think you should do a business plan and factor in spending money to make money, then come back and ask again for timber at wholesale prices.
But then again maybe you could try talking to Cnat and ask for a free dozer, snigger and other logging equipment. The see if you can get yourself the free use of a mill, few chainsaws and everything else you need to do it for yourself, for free. then you should be able to make a really good profit. If you're prepared to work for free.
Get the picture.
WAKE UP FELLA.
DarkyEvil to the bone. But really cute.

With free materials it would be hard to go broke, but I'm sure it wouldn't be impossible.

Well said Carl - have a greenie - once again the "small timber milling" section of this forum jumps to conclusions and probably chases another valuable member away
- to you blokes - get a life and read the post then - put your brain into gear - before you release the mouth.
cheersregards

Sounds fair enough to me David.
I hate cutting my flitches up for firewood, I would love for them to get used up into something usefull or job creating, I usualy have some tas oak or blackwood laying about until I have a bit of a clean up. I'm happy to give the stuff away for a few tinnys
cheers

I'm with Carl, CALM and Johnny Roberts.Sometime back there was a thread on this forum "show us your flitch fire" , of which many members did. Generally anyone who mills decent amounts of logs ends up with a shitload of flitches. If someone is willing to go through my jumbled messy pile of flitches and use what is useless to me well ''GOOD ON YA'', its less I have to chip, cut up, burn or dispose of. If I can help someone having a go I will, It's interesting to see how many of you guys wont. Shame

Just reply to the post then with your offer of free timber if you feel that way inclined. I'm not though, I sell my slabs for stockyard rails & the rest can I can sell as firewood, salvage timber is worth at least $20 a m3. Even sawdust has a market.
The idea of giving some materials away for nothing for a profit to be made on it is really for charitable organisations only. (which anybody would gladly do)

Indeed that is all he "asked" for, (and if he had left it at that - no problem) but he also spent a few words too many telling us what a terrific bloke he was and what a terrific business he runs. Unfortunately big noting oneself in a public forum, especially on a first post, just rubs some of us the wrong way. I have to admit that after reading that post my immediate reaction was I would rather dispose of my flitches in any other way than giving them to someone that wrote that post. Most Aussies find it hard to take anyone seriously that bignotes themselves upon first introduction - thats more of a yank, or maybe even a Queenslander thing
