I'd say you are limited to ebay for something of that vintage.

There are plenty of non genuine parts around for them, Try waverley mowers on ebay and there are several others that carry them. they are australian but if you log onto ebay uk there is a mob called garden hire spares that offer very competitive prices and even with shipping work out cheaper than most of the aussie sellers on ebay.

Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.

The 090s are all pretty much the same regardless of where they were originally spec'd for the only difference was that the early ones did not have a chain brake and some of the first ones with a chain brake which were destined for markets here the us and canada (which were where it was required) the brakes were a bit of a tack on thing but the later ones got the better brake. You can actually still buy them new but they are about 4 grand and they are made in mexico or brazil. They are still made to the original specs I am led to believe. Personally I would rather build a dedicated slabber with a four stroke motor and an ms 660 stihl as my handheld.

I have never seen or heard of an 090 with a factory chainbrake that was ever in mass production, any chance of a pic anybody?

I think you will find that that is not a 090 with a chain brake , but one with a chain brake handle only.

They have a spring loaded chain brake handle designed to fool the average OHS inspector.
