    Given that redwood is not than much harder than warm butter , the saw they have is probably overkill

    The first chainsaws that were being introduced into the area where I lived as a child (abt 60yrs ago) weren't quite as long as that one, but the motor was about five times larger. They definitely required two men to operate.

    The trees they were felling, like tallow wood, were hard and heavy... the ground shook when they thundered down.

    I'd rather be top dog with that amount of sawdust than bottom dog! Agree with Bob that the redwood is pretty light; Density wise, not that particular log. Interested to see the engineering on the auxiliary oiler.

    With a bar that big i guess it would take a year for the chain to do a revolution.
