    Default Twisted Tas Blackwood log

Wondering how to cut this big tassie Blackwood log up.? Itis 3m long by 1m before first set of branches with fiddle back the whole way. Only problem is it has a 90 degree twist over that distance. My first thought was to cut into short ‘guitar back’ lengths, but was hoping for a dining table out of it, am wasting my time trying to get a full length quarter cut slab to dry flat?

That log is going to produce some excellent highly figured boards / backs / blanks. Bit like cutting a valuable rough diamond, well worth taking the time to evaluate options.

Whatever you make out of that big, it's going to look spectacular!

I think it would dry flat if you keep enough pressure on it while drying. Certainly worth a try and if it twists too much you might be able to flatten short lengths and make a table with the boards going crossways. (And then finally...guitar sets)
