    Default What wood is this?

I started cutting open a log that I bought as an oak today. Does not look like oak to me. Very nice looking wood but what is it? The first one is a Southern silky oak, but what is the other one?

Hey Pagie, looks rather similar to E. Torreliana, or commonly know as Cadaghi. Is the bark in rough but uniform 'chunks', or is it smooth and green?

Pagie, the butt on Cadaghi is very rough, only the branches are smooth, but also from the picture, it doesn't have the Tessellations that cadaghi has, so yeah, I agree it ain't no Cadaghi
