OK, I've pencilled you in for the 3-5 shift, Saturday afternoon. I won't post a revised roster until there's a few more changes.

We've got at least one volunteer for each spot except the first hour on Sunday, now. Nearly there!

BTW I've been putting you all down for a 2 hour shift, unless you stated you were only available for an hour. This is based on previous years where almost everyone has stayed on the stand for at least that time, anyway. So far no-one has objected. When it's busy, the time flies, but sometimes it goes very quiet, especially the last half hour of the day, when the whole place seems to empty out in about a minute. So if the person(s) on the last shift need to get off early, I can easily manage the last half hour or so on my own & close up for the night...

    Cheers,

Woops, thanks Christos! I did check the times but must've had a brain fade when I drew up the roster...

    I've fixed it now..

    Default Roster vers 4

As per previous post, I had us staying on past closing time! I've fixed it now: TWWWS roster V4.pdf

It doesn't change much, except I put jaksam's start on Sunday ahead an hour, if that's alright?

    Cheers,

    Hi Ian,

The roster is fine with me - I didn't realise that you wanted 2 hour shifts, so when specifying the 1 hour I thought I was agreeing to the standard!

I must say, however, that I thought that a scientific fellow like you would get the spelling of my forums name, Xanthorrhoeas, (the botanical name of the Australian Grass Trees), correct! Daniel Solander, who named the plants when he visited with Cook and the then Mr Joseph Banks, would roll in his grave.

    Yours in good humour.

Except Zanthorearse, I don't think he called them Grass Trees.

Regards in equally good humour (see you at the show)

David, I didn't specify, I just took the liberty of putting people down for two hours at a time. That was based on a) in previous years everyone has stayed around the stand way beyond their nominal hour or whatever they put their hand up for, & b) we don't have as many hands up, this year...

A typo - I'm very good at those! But I did miss the diphthong altogether. That's what happens when you mix Latin & Greek!

My former students would be delighted - I was always chiding them for mis-spelling Latin names,or mixing them up. In my undergrad days you lost marks in an exam if you didn't spell the names correctly. I could never have done that in this century - they would have ended up in negative territory, even the brightest of them. Spell checker has a lot to answer for....

See you all in a few days...

Well due to my very restrictive work life, I wont be able to attend again this year ( 10 years since I was there last ). But I am confident I will be there next year, and will be only too happy to do a stint on the forum stand.

Hi John, I posted a reply to you this morning, or so I thought, but it hasn't appeared, so here it is again:

There is plenty of parking close to the venue, and it's well sign-posted, so you should have no trouble finding where to go. From memory, it was $12 flat fee last year, so add on inflation & it should be in that ballpark..

To get in, come to the entrance & call my mobile number (which I'm about to PM out to all volunteers) and someone will come to the door with a presenters' badge for you.

    Cheers,
    IW
