I have been to the Canberra show once ,but prefer the Sydney or Melbourne shows coming from WA.
For many years I travelled the various shows from Brisbane to Melbourne & the one time we went to the Canberra show it seemed somehow lacking just from my perspective .
However it probably has improved markedly from the time I was there & Im sure you will all have a great time there.
Enjoy the weekend.Johnno

i can understand why the bigger shows can appeal more ... i like canberra because, rather than in spite of, it being small .... whilst not as many displays, it is easier to spend time (and for that matter money) at them ... i liked melbourne more this year than i have in previous visits ... sydney has always been a good show from my perspective ... i generally get to melbourne one year and sydney the next and canberra every year

i think quite a good day ... reasonably busy without massive crowds made it easy to get around and see things ... the new venue is at least as good as epic (the old venue) ... probably a better show than last year
i looked for but didn’t see any forum t-shirts ... also didn’t have a close look outside today but i will be back tomorrow ...
lost my wife about five metres into the show for an hour or so while she played with a pyrography machine, a new exhibitor i think ... he seemed very good ... she will definitely be getting some (paid) training from him in the near future
another interesting exhibit near him of arcitectural, traditional timber frames
i didn’ t watch the whole demo of the sawstop at cabatec, but what i did see of it showed it was probably the best of any similar demos at other shows ... i have seen the bloke on youtube and whilst he is a bit of a showman, he actually does his demo from a user point of view ... it highlighted, but didn’t just focus on the safety feature ... he showed how the machine could be used to advantage by a user
i liked what i saw of the guy doing the demo at trend too ... giving a realistic demo of the texturing tool, not overselling it
there seemed to be a good bit of money around and the traders did seem to be moving a fair bit of stock

p.s. the woodcraft guild display, whilst worth a look, didn’t have the same number of high quality exhibits this year ... the stuff is really good, just less of it ... last year was probably a high point for them though

A pleasant 3 hour drive from southern Sydney to the WWWS. Free parking, no queue at the entry gates and hassle free parcel pick-up were all bonuses for visitors.
Only saw one other forum T shirt, with A Duke (Hugh) inside. We had a nice chat as we entered the show before we went our separate ways.
Carbatec and VEK Tools seemed to be doing a nice trade, with plenty of carry bags sporting the Carbatec logo, and the parcel pick-up area had a wide variety of yellow DeWalt boxes ready to be loaded into their new owners vehicles. Other vendors appeared to have a steady stream of visitors. The crowd numbers certainly dropped off just after lunch but there was plenty of room to watch demo's or wander around throughout the day.
Only in Australia, as they say - As we turned left out of the racecourse on the way home, there was a small mob of Kangaroos in the paddock across the road, then cows and sheep in the paddocks on the road to the highway, then traffic lights at the highway. All within 2 kilometres!
Some photos for those who couldn't get to Canberra -
Display table at Theo Haralampou's demonstration. Theo has a very good camera set-up for his demo's, nice and clear with the ability to switch between cameras with the flick of a switch. (Thanks for the Minties Theo!)

Logosol saw mill set-up. Clever use of a shipping container to ship and display the various bits of gear they had.

A pretty good show, well worth the trip from Sydney. It was fairly economical for me, only buying some abrasives, but my chauffer for the day ended up with a Dewalt thicknesser from VEK Tools, some pen kits from Trend Timbers, a few turning blanks and a couple of shirts from a mob near the Logosol stand.

I went on Friday morning - was working in Yass that week, so took a diversion on the way home. Only intended to have a quick look around, but despite that smaller size of the show I ended up spending a very enjoyable 4 hours there. Lots of interesting and helpful people to talk to; I've always found the more laid back Canberra show to be better than Sydney in this respect.
Spending was modest (by my standards). Picked up pads and Mirka sanding discs to try from Best Abrasives, and did my annual stock up of G15 from Jim Davey (who had an excellent stand, very busy at times). Terry Gordon was in fine form, and I was very impressed with his new front vise. Beautifully made and finished, and very reasonably priced vs. other options I'd been considering. Major Woodworking had a small selection of Bridge City Toolworks items on display (lovely to look at, but a bit rich for me to buy), and finally got to check out Laguna bandsaws on Gregory's stand (Santa, if you're listening, I'd like a......). Overall a very enjoyable show, and the venue/parking was very good I thought.
