Just wanted to encourage those that have wanted to volunteer for a stint on the forum stand. Really easy task. Just hand out flyers to people walking pass and chat about the forum.

OK here is the latest update. We have a small problem in that we have no one to put the stand up and another in that no one to take it down at present. Mind you I'm concerned that the stand will not be open on the Sunday going by the spaces available. Thank you to all that have put their hand up. SB

There is not much time left before the start of the working with wood show.
Couple of hours does not mean too much time in the reality of life. Sorry could not think of anything more profound to say.

Sorry - I opened your word document and saw a 9 - 10 slot and thought you needed someone for this time.

Timbecon have graciously consented to take the forum stand paraphernalia up to Brisbane for me and then transfer it down to Sydney for the next show after Brisbane.
However we will need someone to put the posters, banners etc up on the walls and set up the computer etc on the Thursday afternoon/evening. This is about a 1 hour job at the most but needs a volunteer to do it. Could be done Friday morning but it would need to be done well before the show starts.
Currently we are in desperate need of volunteers for short stints throughout the weekend, especially on Sunday for the pack-up and to make sure the forum stuff is all returned in good order to Timbecon at the end of the show.
The Sunday pack-up shouldn't take any more than about 1/2 hour, less if there are a couple or few people to help.
So come on Queenslanders, and northern New South Welshmen & women. Surely an hour of your time isn't too much to ask in return for all that you get from these forums. Especially when at worst you might actually have some fun, get to put faces to names, meet lots of nice people, talk some rot, laugh and enjoy yourself.
On top of all that you get into the Show for FREE!!!
What more could you ask for.
Cheers - Neil

Looks like the roster is filling up as quick as the posts were loading before the new server.
May be some could do with a serve.

If there is a shortage of volunteers, the Forum stand may not be at future Shows so come on and put your hands up for an hour or so.
It is a great way to say hello to other forumites and give something in return to the Forum.Tom

Neil, I'm too far out of town on the Thursday to help with set-up, but I can be there at first light Friday, so if push comes to shove, I'll get there in time to set up. As you say, setting up is not an overwhelming job. Last year I volunteered to help, got there at the appointed hour to start, & DaveTTC had already done it!
I'll try to get there early anyway - last year the management didn't fall over themselves to fix the coffee urn issues, so someone needs to check that it's sorted, this time, if that's on the agenda....
Cheers,IW

PS First one in will need to go to the Exhibition office and get the passes for the stand. Unless someone does it Thursday and gets there early to let others in.KEEP A LID ON THE GARBAGE... Report spam, scams, and inappropriate posts, PMs and Blogs.
