First time I've been able to get on to the Forum for a while too. I hope the domain-name change issues are now sorted on my computer, thanks to Neill.

Fair enough, Neill, I apologise for any potential slander I may have made or implied against the show organisers. I've heard grumbling from past exhibitors, and probably believed too much of what I heard without 'fact-checking'. I'm always happy to have my misconceptions straightened out....

I think the easiest way to sort out the entry passes for volunteers is to have someone who is prepared to be the designated 'call person' for each day. Obviously, it needs to be someone who is prepared to be there early, & hang about all day. It looks like either Dave or I could be it for Friday. We could just PM the mobile numbers to the volunteers if anyone is squeamish about putting their number on the roster??

Finally, may I make a suggestion about the draw prizes for this year? In past years, there have been a few hassles getting some of the prizes to the winners, because obviously, many were not there, when they were drawn on the last day. So I think it's better if we put the names of all volunteers on the roster in the (conveniently supplied ) Forum cap on the first morning and draw enough names for the prizes, plus a couple extras. Then each winner can take their prize with them at the end of their shift. If anyone defaults & doesn't show, his/her prize goes to the next name drawn. I can't see any flaws in that system, but if there are, I'm sure someone will soon point them out...

    Cheers,
    IW

In past years, if I have been home and not travelling, I was there helping out most days. But the number of stall holders at the show is dwindling rapidly and so too what's on offer. Being a shop-a-holic but no longer working, I have to watch the pennies, so decided give it a miss this year.

Not much time left before the start of the show. Lets hope there is a last minute rush to help out on the forum stand.

    Cheers,
If the distribution and organisation of those prizes is a problem I will volunteer to take them all. The marking gauges look lovely.

Ok, keeping up to date the progress with the roster. Don't get too hung up on passes and phone numbers guys, we will get it sorted in time and if we don't we will make do and it will be alright on the day.

    This just in:

    Forum stand number is T15.

6x3 meter corner stand along the wall at the exit door to the conveniences, outdoor exhibitors and catering, so there should get plenty of passing traffic. Some on the run to the outside and others leisurely strolling back into the pavilion.

Map is now available CLICK HERE

    Stand shows on map as 6 x 2mt but I'm assured it is actually 6 x 3mt.

    Cheers - Neil

My fellow volunteers, Neil has the idea of a phone tree for contact to get in to the show when you show up. The idea is for you to send me your mobile number by private message email and I will put it on the roster by your shift, so when a volunteer wants to come in they can ring who is on the roster at that time. Note, only volunteers will be emailed a roster with mobile numbers on it so it will not appear on the forum for every one to see. This will solve communication problems with notifying the stand when you arrive at the show entry gate. So what do you think, it's the only way I can see it working and we need to get it going quick.
