    Default Beam me in SB

Looking at the roster it is clear that there are some slots to be filled on both the Saturday and the Sunday. I am happy to do some more slots and as I am already going to be there on Saturday would prefer any extras for me to be that day rather than Sunday. That way I can actually get into my workshop on Sunday - otherwise it will be a bad week!

    Regards

    David

Right, here is the latest as of 10:20 Thursday and please note some changes and extras that some volunteers have put their hand up to help out. There are some shifts whereby a volunteer might or will be on their own but I'm sure forum members will drop in from time to time so if needed they can get a comfort stop done as they say. Still need some phone numbers but I think we have sufficient to make things work, I'll email some volunteers to see if they will add their phone numbers by the end of the day. I will be doing an up date later today and then emailing out the contact phone numbers by private email for volunteers. If there is any significant up dates over Friday I'll post it here.

    Default Help

Just a small thing said the Actress to the Bishop, does anyone know how to attach an attachment to a private message using the forums private message system. I can't figure it out so I can't send the roster out to you all.

Did not think it was possible. I use to send via email to the members.

AFAIK, you can't put attachments on PMs.
I don't care if you put my number on the roster here - phone numbers were in the public domain, once!

Failing that, just do a bulk PM with all our names & numbers (there aren't that many of us!), & folks can just look up the roster before they leave home and match the number they'll need against the person who is supposed to be on at the time they plan to arrive...

    Cheers,

OK guys, I have sent out the roster and contacts. If I've missed someone please let me know. This is my last show in Brisbane as I will be in Tasmania next year and will attend the Melbourne show. See you at the show.

A couple of volunteers have their email on the forum turned off in their settings so they did not get the Roster and Contacts. If this IS one of you please email me and I can reply with the Roster and Contacts.

Sorry just got in from the factory a little while ago.

You could save roster and etc as a pdf file and pm that.

    Default First Report

Sorry, Crowie, I forgot to take a camera, as usual. Let's hope someone else posts a pic or two for you.

Today went well. I arrived early to find I'd been beaten to the punch by DaveTTC, who'd put up most of the stuff (thanks again, Dave). We only had to do about 10 minutes of sticking up the last few bits & bobs, & scrounging a bit of gaffer tape from the show office to put up the banners. Then it was just a matter of securing the 'puter & firing it up, sit back, & wait for the hordes to pour in. (BTW, the keys to unlock the security cables are in the plastic box that contained all of the computer gear)

As usual, it was pretty busy all morning, then died away this afternoon. By 1/2 an hour before close (4 PM) the place was almost deserted.

I think the lads talked a few more folks into becoming members. I put a couple of recently-finished saws on the table to draw the passers-by closer, & they snared a few! Nothing like a shiny tool to catch a woody's eye.

Superbunny, I wrote the winners for the draw prizes on a print-out of the roster, which is in the plastic box in the 'rest' room. Rod Gilbert won the gauges, and has gone home with his. The other winners are scattered through tomorrow & Sunday, so I'll leave it to you & whoever is 'in charge' Sunday to check the list & make sure each person gets their due.

OK, that's it for me, I'll leave it to someone with a camera to post some piccies & give more news...
    Cheers,
    IW

Thanks for the link, Crowie, those photos give a more complete tour than I managed myself!

Most of the time our blokes were pretty busy talking to potential or current forumites, so I'm not sure if anyone took photos - I haven't even seen one of the stand, yet, which is a bit slack of us. Despite the fact I was there from the start til 10 minutes before closing, I didn't take the time to have a really good look around, just made a few quick forays to buy a few things when I could (got a couple of pieces of nice potential saw-handle wood. ).

    Cheers,
    IW
