The nearby streets are probably permit zones but I am sure there will be free parking on streets closer than the railway station. Sorry, I don't know about the disabled parking. I will try wander down on the weekend and have a look.

Parking sign in front of and to the right of Seaworks - taken from Google Earth. hence the poor quality.

Ticket parking 9am to 10pm seven days a week. I can't zoom in to find out the cost of parking but from memory it is not cheap.

Parking has been a problem every time I have been to Williamstown, without having to fight for space with the (probably all of 17) woodies going to the show. Local businesses and popup attractions like markets etc seem to fill up all available parking. If the Sea Shepherd is open then forget it.

Based on the photo there is no time limit (as long as you pay).
Parking closer to Nelson place is always a hassle but the further down the street you park (towards BAE/the shipyards) the easier it is. I don't think it will be a problem. (famous last words)

Is it still worthwhile going? I went a couple of years ago and it was rather quiet that year.

I am still hoping that the new management will improve things and make it worthwhile going again, even if she is not answering my emails. Only time will tell.

That was just one of the signs that I was able to read enough to understand (google earth has its limitations). Many of the others such as on the other side of the street are half hour to three hour ticketed parking and I am not sure if that is just weekdays or other restriction periods on the time limit. Half the signs in the area have trees obscuring them in the google earth images and are probably raising heaps of revenue for the local council because of it.

The closest disabled park I can find is way down the road near the park with the rotunda in it, and there aren't a lot of them.

Then comes the question of where can you park with a trailer? Almost all the onstreet parking is angle parking and where there is parallel parking it's no more than 2 hours.

Hopefully the organizers will post an update on the show soon. It's only three weeks away. I haven't even seen a list of exhibitors yet.

Rather than chase any discount, I think in my case I will just wait and pay full price at the door - assuming I find somewhere suitable to park my car so that I can get to the door.

Otherwise I can just drive home again with my admission and tool budget money still in my wallet

With some events at that venue, you can drive in and park on the pier, at the rear. Whether or not that is so for this one.....???

So anybody going to the show despite the possibility of parking issues.

I’m planning, at this stage of going first thing Friday morning with a la ta in hand.

Also planning on getting all the nice timber stuff before Gabriel and Doug.

    Cheers Matt

I think you are jumping the gun a bit there Matt. Until they publish an exhibitors list we don't even know if there will be any timber to be had.

Hmmm I wonder where the timber trucks will park? Probably on the pier, so that might rule out public parking there.

Is it legal to cut timber piers with a new Japanese pull saw(there quieter) lol.

According to their website the show will be held as follows:

Click on the "Free Parking" link - It's gonna be a long walk.
The link date is 2017 ??

I have given thought to going on Friday via the electric train, Williamstown station is only 3½ blocks away from the venue. Could take the pushy and ride around Willie a bit as well.

What on earth is a, "la ta"?

I presume Matt meant a "latte" which of course is a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk. The term as used in English is a shortened form of the Italian caffè latte [kafˈfɛ ˈlatte], caffelatte

    Mick,
My apologies for my very average English.
    Actually I thought Latte,
    Means warm in Italian,
So I should be at that time of the morning asking for a caffe latte.
But I’m not wanting to take this thread of track.

    Cheers Matt

There's a bus that runs from Newport station which goes past the venue and stops just around the corner too but apparently carrying a three metre natural edged slab on the bus or train is frowned upon.
