I prefer the term blackmail bribery.

Crowie are you making assumptions that Sally made these.
And I had nothing to do with it !
I certainly contributed financially but I will let you speculate on the rest[emoji6][emoji6].

    Cheers Matt

While the food, bribery and corruption is important, don't forget we are going in to battle tomorrow three men short.

Five men short on Saturday and one man short on Sunday.

If you want to do 12 - 1, 1 - 2 or 3 - 4 on Friday at this late stage best you PM me your mobile number and I can call you Friday morning and arrange to get you in for free still.

Do not post your mobile number in open forum. The roster will not be updated on the forum while I am at the show as I will be on a mobile device. I can still read the forum including PM's but I do not have the programs I have been using to post the roster. I can access my home computer remotely from my mobile device and do it that way but the limited functionality makes it impractical.

YES Doug, That's extremely disappointing with all the Melbourne area forum members.....

Hopefully you might get a few walk ups on the day to help out a little when they see how easy the task is!!!!

Well it is what it is, obviously anyone who turns up on the day to lend a hand will be most welcome.

I hope the members going to the turnaround have a great weekend. It is neither their fault or the fault of those going to www show that they now clash. it is just a reality we all have to deal with.

Thanks Crowie for your welcome assistance in helping Matt, Pagie and me get as much cover on the roster as we have. Hopefully there will be some last minute volunteers.

    Cheers

    Doug

Good to see the stand will be up and running - well done guys! Unfortunately work has had me in Canberra for the last month and I only discovered on Monday the show is on Friday but have been too busy to get my act together. I'll be in there tomorrow and drop by the stand.

I got home from the show early this arvo. The guys on the forum stand are not nearly as vicious as they may seem. Go and say hello, nothing but smiles and friendly chatter to be had. I picked up a bunch of red mallee, brown mallee and coolabah burl bowl blanks. I have never used these species before, I think it will be an 'experience' learning to turn bowls using these timbers. There wasn't a lot of timber there this year, but enough to keep everyone happy and busy for a while.

The show is ok, but I found it a little too cramped. Mostly that is because of people which want to stand in the middle of a walkway to have a discussion with another. GET OUT OF MY WAY! I'm a busy man with nothing to do and it needs to be done yesterday!

Sorry Crowie, I didn't take any photos at the show. I'm just not a photo taking kind of bloke. But I guess I can take a photo of my random bowl blanks. I have hit them with a bit of CA glue here n there, but the blanks are in pretty good shape. The 6" dia x 4" thick blank has a decent chek in it, I reckon it will turn out or knock me out if it explodes. I also picked up a 2" wide D2 plane blade to try out.

The charity I chose to support at this years show was Arbortech. I already had the turboplane and I am happy with that so I thought I might expand the range.

Ah, a little bit of retail therapy, 'tis good for the soul, and the workshop, not so good for the Visa card balance.
There is some nice gear there, have fun with it.
