Yes Dallas, The 10" blades aren't top shelf, but at $20 each, once they're starting to loose there edge, gone & replaced....
On the 6" comb. squares; I have 2 but wanted another couple for exactly as you said when doing the toys...
The "secondhand dealer" had some nice older quality tools; that lot was $25.00....Could of spent heaps more on his stand but had to restrain myself....
Cheers, crowie

This year Ubeaut had provided us with some items to give away as a prize draw. I wish to thank Neil for the generosity on providing the prizes for this draw.
The following members who gave up an hour or so of their time to help out were also rewarded by winning prize.
Ross
David Stanley
Pac Man
PlanePig
All won a jar of traditional wax. May you be waxing your creations and thinking of the forum.
Barterbuilt
Sawdust Maker
All won a bottle of Polish Reviver. May you be polishing your creations and thinking of the forum.
Wood Nut
Had won the forum cap. I am just not able to think of something related to caping while thinking of the forum.
Once again thank you Neil.

Forum members that had an absolute ball. So much energy radiating from these two it was like looking into the sun.

These pieces I really liked so I thought that I might share them.

These are the items that I purchased.
P1010467.JPG
Flushcut saw. This is a direct result of what Crowie mention when he returned to the forum stand. The last one that I had is no longer straight nor is attached to the handle.
It was time to get another one.
P1010466.JPG
Vicmarc bowl jaws
Couple of shoe horn kits that I hope to make on the lathe in the next few weeks.
Taper Mate
Potpourri so I can make one on the lathe.
Single dot discs,80 grit. I seem to find that I reach for this more often to clean up some rough turning off the chisel.
P1010464.JPG
Couple of pieces of wood from the bargain bucket, from three different retailers.
One was some sort of burl, the second Wenge and the third had some interesting figure in it. I was not there to purchase wood as I am trying to clear out the current stock pile by using them.
I will mention that the third piece also is thinner at one end, cupped, bowed and twisted. But what I have in mind I can still use it.
You will have to look at the turning sub-forum for a work in progress. https://www.woodworkforums.com/f8

In all the excitement i forgot to thank all the volunteers for helping out at the forum stand. Without you it would be a long time between restroom breaks.
I also wish to thank Neil for organising the tea and coffee and for the organisers for supporting the forum stand.
I hope next year we have a bigger crowd.

I would like to add my vote of thanks to Neil and Christos as well. Christos kept saying that it was an easy job which I doubt but, even if it is easy, someone still has to stump up and do it and Christos is THE MAN and ably assisted by DaveTTC
I had a great time going on both Friday and Sunday. I bought a pile of stuff but I can't show you yet because the lady who cooked the ANZACS took all (most?) of my toys off me to give them back for my birthday. (Lucky I hid some of it first!)
The strategy of attending on Sunday IN CASE THERE ARE ANY BARGAINS certainly paid off this year! I got some great timber from Boutique (thanks Greg and Mal) and the best tool bargains seemed to be around the VEK Tools camp where I bought some of the Bahco saw blades and squares (I don't use my Clentons for welding!) and a REAL laser level for only $99!.
I also supported some of the new suppliers (whose name I can't remember but will have to by the time the credit card statement comes in!) and they had some excellent router accessories, track clamps AND FINALLY, the Titebond Instant glue range!
The venue was clearly smaller but the quality of vendors was up there to compensate.
One of the highlights at these shows is always Big Stan and his guitars.
20140629_120904[1].jpg
This shy young man thought he was going to get past Stan while carrying a guitar on his back! Not bl**dy likely! The next thing he knew was that he was playing an olive oil tin guitar accompanying the slide Arnott's tin guitar master. It was a very special moment.
I would like to encourage everyone who attends in the future to at least stick your head into the forum tent, put faces to names and enjoy the banter.
I had a great time .... now all I have to do is wait for my birthday .....

Well said Fletty. Not only do you have to wait for your birthday, but also the Visa card statement.
I had a chat with Irene on the Carrolls Woodwork Supplies stand late on Sunday, and commented on the many empty display pegs where they had sold out of goodies. A pleasing result for one of our forum sponsors.
I would love to see the attendance figures for this years show with a comparison to previous years, and to hear any feedback from the stall holders as to how they went and what they thought of the new venue.

Wow
Now compared to the Melbourne show last year
which I thought was a bit small.
The Sydney show looks amazing will defentl think about heading up to the Sydney show next year if I can.
Just the timber sellers and old tools would be enoughy.
I have noticed the Melbourne show being a bit smaller ever year.
But will still show up and support it
But wow not being there in person the Sydney one looks great

Hi Fletty,
I'm guessing the store you are talking about is Bench Standard (Bench Standard | Professional Woodworking Supplies and Woodcraft Accessories). They had some good bits 'n pieces. I grabbed a catalogue as I will order some router bits and other bits 'n bobs from them.
Fantastic to see new players, it looked like they did a decent trade too.
Nathan.
