Alzheimers Workshop for carers and supporters.
Spent today at the first half of a 2 day workshop for carers and supporters of Alzheimers sufferers.
I went with 3 of my sisters, several of whom are involved with looking after mum who lives with one sister.
Another sister takes her to the doctors where mum seems to need to go about once a week for some reason or other.
The rest of us pitch in where we can.
I was the only male attendee at the workshop out of about 15 participants.
All in all quite good value and I can recommend going, a fair bit of detail but not over the top and lots of practical stuff about how to deal with the issues.
These workshops in WA are booked out till September and i can really see the need for it.
The workshops are free and I can see why.
The cost of the workshops is nothing compare to the alternative of mass dumping of sufferers into high care nursing facilities.
