Diagnosis at last.
Well after thinking I had PMR for the last six months it turns out I don't, sure wish it was though. Rheumatologist has diagnosed RA. So now I get to stuff my body with all sorts of toxic medications trying to find one or a combination of drugs that will allow me to use my hands again. On to my second lot now - no luck so far. All this because of an infection after an elbow arthroscopy.

Attended Repat yesterday for steroid injections into wrist joints yesterday, hopefully this will give some relief. Love to be able to do some simple things again like using a hammer or a file, but I'll aim low for now and settle for turning door knobs and slicing bread!

No improvement I'm afraid, doorknobs are still a problem. I had a discussion with SWMBO the other day regarding replacing our doorknobs with levers. Great idea I thought, but then I can't use a screwdriver so that idea is out the window. Unfortunately the Rheumatologist advised me I have to wait until the end of June before going on biologics (govt requires 6 months on DMARDS first), until then I'm not able to do much of anything. Hopefully the biologics will work, the DMARDS certainly aren't. Getting sick of stabbing myself in the thigh muscle though, doesn't hurt just goes against the grain. Thanks for asking, a good winge always makes you feel better I've found.
