Group Effort : Lose 50lbs by Christmas
Hello,
Anybody out there currently losing weight ?
Lets see if collectively we can lose 50lbs before Christmas
Have got two takers so far and we lost approx 7lbs last week
Log your weight loss every Friday and I shall compile all responses into a weekly graph - its not a competition - stick to your current targets/programs - we just add up the total.
Anybody joining us ?
Here is some homework for somebody
50lbs = 50 x 3500 calories = How many seconds on a 2HP table Saw ?
= Lifting a 1 tonne car how far off the ground ?

Of course, I'm in it. Since I started last week I've lost 3 or so Kg. From 105.1 to (today) 102.2Kg (about 6.6lb). I'm pretty happy with that considering I've just stuck to 3 meals a day and done some gentle exercise. This afternoon I managed 1000m in the pool and walked at least 3-4km a day. I'm feeling a little sore but mentally, a 100% better. Hope a few of you can join Bill and I.

OK Scott whaddaya got ?
Hey Scott,
Looks like between us we gotta lose 50lbs.
So far I can contribute 2.6 lbs over last 2 weeks.
Put in your last weeks score and I will put up the graph, and then update it every weekend after we post our losses on Friday.
My progress so far - no booze, no crisps, no chocolate biscuits in 2 weeks. Increased physical activity.
Might need some help to hit a 50lb target - anybody else want to post in ?

First graph
Ches and Scott,
Chesand welcome to the 50lb challenge.
First graph attached.
Between us we have lost 15.6 lbs of fat and I think the energy content of that is enough to boil 3 cups of water - need somebody with a teenager doing high school physics or chemistry to check this please ?

Still, you've lost something!
I couldn't crack the 100Kg mark this week and haven't done much different. I think that it's easy to shed the excess initially but then it becomes harder. I certainly feel a bit lighter and have a better outlook on life
I'm 100Kg on the knocker, down 0.2Kg (about 0.44 of a pound).-Scott

I'd better not join in or you'll be back to square one.....been going to gym/eating more for 3 months, and managed to GAIN 10kg (which was the intention). I'd got down to under 70kg and starting to look a bit scrawny, now back up to nearly 80kg.
One of the reasons I lost weight was working in a job where I was always skipping meals, etc. I think one of the biggest helpers to LOSING weight is to only eat when you're hungry, i.e. don't automatically sit down to a huge meal 3 times a day regardless of how much physical work you are doing. If you really don't feel hungry, just snack on a piece of fruit or something.
Good on you guys for giving the weight loss a go - you'll feel much better for it, and last longer too !! Looks like 100kg is a bit of barrier for most, but get past that and I'm sure 90kg won't be too far way.
