PET scan results.
I got the results of the PET scan last week: just the one cancer in the the lymph gland, well, that's the only one that showed up; unfortunately, microscopic cancers don't show up, just have to cross my fingers I guess.
Next week I start radio and chemo so I can expect to be very sick for a few months. Doc says they are aiming for a cure, yeah right, that'l happen. Removing 60& of my right lung was supposedly a cure, that worked out well.
Going on the last 'cure' I may get 12 months again. Sooner or later though I will probably get sick of this crap and the never re-visits, scans, meds and decide to let life take its natural course. Not keen on letting a filthy disease rob me of all I once was or spending my remaining days in pain, I'm just not the heroic type I'm afraid. For now, I'm still positive; well, as positive as a pessimist can be - all's well for now.

Good luck. Hopefully it gives you a better separation from the next treatment than you're expecting. We're all on borrowed time, but most of us aren't consciously thinking of it.
I saw a news article this week about someone who had contracted cancer and wanted to blame a common herbicide that he used (despite using many others). The article said the plaintiff "will eventually die" (written as if to trigger suspense movie music).
I thought that was an interesting line (I'm an actuary). We all "will eventually die".
I hope you're wrong about the timing and things go better than you expect. I hope you have plenty of good days, years, decades yet, too, and can do things you want.
