After a lovely mothersday with my family I had a lousy night. I was extremely cold when I went to bed, took the electric blanket 20 min to warm me up and this morning after a sleep in I woke up in a sweat.

Must be the tablets that I'm on.

Good thing my urine has less blood in it, so it must be healing inside. No sign of infection on my suture line or where the drain has been.

Thanks for the continual updates Peter. For those of us in the older group real information on any medical condition is most welcome. Look forward to your posting a clean bill of health notice.

Not just the old blokes Bob ( depends what you consider old I guess). This thread inspired me to get mine checked.

This thread has been most enlightening and informative thanks to your "warts and all" description of everything, Peter. You have had a tough time of it and have found time to keep us updated on your progress. Keep it up and keep improving to a full and complete recovery.

Does this operation always produce the same after effects?

Or some patients have lesser or greater episodes than Peter mentions?

YMMV, from all that I've heard. Some piping must be re-connected, and the muscles are so tiny that self-teaching is the only means of learning, even without surgery.

I'm back after a couple of days of feeling lousy. Monday night temp 37.7 too high, Tuesday morning 35.5 too low, Tuesday lunch time back to 36.6.

Have had no appetite and had to force me to eat. eg eating a salad roll and apple took me over na hour yesterday.

Body temp either too hot or I had cold sweats and perspiring that all my clothes were damp. Lost 3 kg in these 3 weeks.

Such are my woes so I stayed in bed most of the last few days and only got up for a while during the afternoons.

Good news is that there is very minimal blood in my urine and I'm of to the hospital for my first outpatient clinic.

    Peter.

Your Mileage may vary - ie. could be different for you.

As I said I went to the urology outpatient clinic. These clinics are normally when many are called in at once and dealt with in accordance with medical needs not necessarily in order of registration.

Arrived 15 mins early and was called into within minutes and saw my old friend my main urology doctor. My own Doctor Phil.

After reviewing the notes on the hospital in the home on the drain etc, he gave me a physical examination, changed dressings and told me he was very pleased with my recovery so far.

He thought that I may have a urinary infection and told me to organze that checked through my local doctor. Sample have gone to pathology today.

He also reduced my regular panadol and instead told me to take it only when in pain. My hot and cold sweats may be as a result of too much panadol so I'll try to do without them for a while and see how that goes.

My visit between arriving at the carpark to leaving was an hour and on getting home I stayed up for lunch and went back to bed.

Generally a good result sofar although I'm weak, tired and worn out.

    Peter.
