Brett
I'm with Simplicity on this. I gave up when I was eleven. Fifty four years clean now. Never regretted it.
Seriously, stay strong.

I think that regaining the taste of a good steak, but also appreciating the spicey food my good lady likes to tempt my taste buds with made it a definite bonus on hanging up the ciggie lighter.Mind though with a good glass of wine there is still an occasional fond thought for a nice cigar.
Keep up with the momentum Brett ,we're hanging in there for ya!

Thank you chaps.
Well I just watched Mosley's program, and to me it seemed very well balanced with a good range of tests. I'm not surprised about two things: that eCigs have far less toxins in them, and that the jury is out on the long term effects (as it should be until long term data is available).
What was very surprising is the amount of reduction of toxins in eCigs over burning tobacco: 99% less.
Evidence showed that inhaling vapour for a previously non-vaper creates damage to throat tissue, and that wasn't a surprise either. I have always maintained that vaping is not safe, it is just far less damaging than burning tobacco, although by a much bigger margin than I thought.
I thought that the pgm should have made mention of the easy ability to reduce the nicotine addiction over time, as I am in the middle of proving (cut by 50% in 3 months, and seamlessly with no effort or cravings). The group that managed to stay cig free by using patches had the same success rate as the eCig group (7/8 were still cig free after 4 weeks). If I was in the patch group I'd be the one who didn't succeed because they put my blood pressure up by 20 points. I have had this measured, but more importantly I can feel it at the time, and it is very unpleasant indeed.
I should also point out that for visual effect they were using people who like to blow enormous bloody clouds of vapour. This is achieved by using a higher % of Vegetable Glycerine (VG) than Propylene Glycol (PG) juice which is much thinner and delivers more of the throat hit that smokers seek. VG juice is very very thick and quite difficult to draw into a syringe (for measuring, not injecting). It takes about a minute or more to draw just 5mls where PG is just a couple of seconds, to give you an idea of the viscosity of VG. There are also specific machines that deliver these enormous clouds, and other machines that can be modified to do so by incorporating different coils etc. The visual cloud is important, but I still like to be able to see around me.
