Stomach Pain
Started out at 10pm Monday, with a sharp pain in my upper stomach, to the right and just below the ribs.
By Tuesday morning I was convinced that it was not Diarrhea so decided to front up to Emergency dept.
After a sequence of tests they decided it was Gall bladder. They removed it Wed and I am now home.
A bit sore but a lot better.
No lifting for a month
Thank goodness for the Doctors and Nurses we have

This happened to 3 times, first time at 10 pm and the other 2 times at 2am in the morning.
The pain lasted for a few hours and then eventually subsided
Gastroscopy,
Blood tests
Various scans
Specilaists
Nothing
A week after the last pains I was talking to my then 80 year old MIL who had been a pharmacist for 60 years and I was telling her all about it and I said.
"On top of all that I now have an itchy back".
She said "Bob you have shingles - agro straight to the docs and get retrovirals"
Next morning I was back at the (young) GP and told him what my MIL had said.
He looked at my back, looked skeptical and pulls a large thick book off his shelf and starts flipping back and forth through it like a student looking for answers in an "open book" exam.
Finally he goes and gets another of the older more experienced GPs (the aptly named Dr Blight) who looks at my back, murmurs and mumbles something, and the GP writes out a script for the retrovirals.
The young GP said "I supposed I will have to bulk will you since you self diagnosed"
MIL was suitably stuffed and has dined out on that one for the last decade.
Hope you get well soon.

I had a few gall bladder attacks about 10 years ago where the stones had migrated to the duodenum, terrible pain, only exceeded by the pain after a TURPS. Hours and hours in emergency waiting for them to give me something for the pain. After the third attack I had my gall bladder removed. Fortunately I never suffered any side effects.
