Default Borers in sap wood of blackbutt intended for a table

A friend has felled a large Blackbutt tree from his block & wants me to make up an dining table & outdoor table from slabs from this tree. The timber has been stored under cover for several years & has approximately 14% moisture level. However there are borers in the sapwood. One borer I removed was about 12mm long & there are several exit? holes in the edges of the slabs. I am assuming this was one of the Lyctine borers.
I have found Mabons Protectimber Pro will apparently kill current infestations & prevent reinfestation. This is a boron mix with numerous other magic bits added to it. Has any one used it & if so, what results were achieved?
Are there any other options that I could use to kill all borers before I plug the holes & seal the timber? I don't particularly want a nice big hole to appear 12 months down the track when another borer makes its exit.

Pure Boron dissolved in water is what works best for me. Your product is probably good too, assuming it is water thin, so it penetrates the timber and gets the hidden b_ggers. Heat also kills em but not sure you have access to a kiln or set up a steam tent.
