Default Is Bunnings no longer supplying Jarrah?

I went to the local the other day thinking I would get some short Jarrah boards to make a table. After walking through the timber aisles twice I could only find a couple of sticks of Jarrah. Checking the website I cant seem to find any hits for Jarrah DAR.

Just did a search and it looks like it's now "special order"...

May have to find another local timber supplier!

I think Bunnings WA stores might carry some, but I've never seen it here in Victoria at all. Vic ash or pine, and maybe a bit of merbau if you don't mind starting with decking. Bunnings has a surprising amount of finger-jointed wood masquerading as DAR, too.

Bunnings also has a lot of bananas masquerading as wood. Never ceases to amaze how poorly stacked their timber is - in no small part due to customers too.

    Cheers, Dom

No Jarrah here in Melbourne that I have seen. Plenty of Pine and Merbau etc.

If it is a special order, I wonder how much it is and what sizes are available.

Yeah plenty here in WA Bunnings but hardly surprising considering where Jarrah comes from. Super pricey though, never actually bought any from there as I can find it much cheaper elsewhere.

I bought a banana from Bunnings except it was meant to be a decking board. When I tried to return it for a refund I was told they could not except it as it had been cut. I replied it was not fit for purpose with the curve. I got my refund .

And I can recommend Danny's Timber before Pinjarra (h).

Get all mine from him, he has a number of old trees that he cuts from...and I get around 6-12% moisture straight off the tree...

Be sure to ask for Australian Jarrah if ordering, as the 'Jarrah' decking I was offered through a couple of merchants and Bunnings was from Indonesia so it wasn't WA Jarrah as expected.
Ended up getting it from Hudson's - good old fashioned Aussie timber.

If it's any use I saw Karri on their website the other day.
