Default Where to buy 90mm x 90mm Pine in Perth

Hi guys, anyone know where I can get 90mm * 90mm Pine in Perth? In lengths of about 2.4 metres? Bunning sell it for about $47 each!!!! What an absolute joke especially when comparing to this say: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded...6276/100066791 looks same stuff to me and bunnings are 6 times as much? How on earth is that even possible I mean its pine for God's sake!!!

You can't compare Aus prices with USA

Have you tried secondhand yards, timber mills etc. If you type in Pine Supplies Perth into Google you also get quite a few suppliers

Unfortunately the wood itself has practically no value, the costs are all in the labor, plant and processing. They guys milling the timber sold in HD are most likely earning minimum wage. That's a whole $7.25 a hour! The harvesting and milling might also be done by illegal Mexican can labour who wrk for even less. I don't think it justifies all the Bunnings prices but it does explain some of it.

The US market is substantially larger than here, and economies of scale come into effect, where it is so much cheaper per cubic metre when dealing in large quantities

Pleae correct me if i am wrong, but some years back when i was in the timber industry it was rumoured that bunnings were buying out 2 of Carter, Holt Harvey's two biggest mills one being the Oberon operation whether this came to fruition or not I am unsure.
